Nokia and Intel to Develop MeeGo
Written by dekaman on 11:08 PMNokia and Intel have worked together to create the operating system for mobile devices, the operating system called MeeGo. An open platform for mobile computing devices, tablets, netbooks, smartphones, internet-connected TVs and in-vehicle infotainment systems.
Both platforms are both based on open source software Linux. MeeGo take the best of patform Intel Mobilin platforms and joint Maemo, linux-based operating system used on the Nokia N900. MeeGo will target a variety of devices, including ARM and Intel-based platforms, and will offer users a continuity in all devices that have not been seen with other mobile OS platforms.
MeeGo will support cross-platform UI Qt framework application that allows developers to code for the Symbian and MeeGo simultaneously. This cooperation is expected to increase opportunities to incorporate Intel chips into Nokia mobile phone. Nokia now controls about 40 percent of the global handset market share.
